What is a Website?

A website is a collection of multiple web pages. These web pages are digital files written using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). For a WordPress website to be accessible to everyone around the world, it needs to be hosted on a computer connected to the internet 24/7, which is called a web server.

Web pages on a website are linked together through hyperlinks and hypertext. A WordPress website can also store documents, images, and videos. Websites usually focus on specific topics like news, education, commerce, entertainment, or social media.

WordPress is the world’s most popular Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to easily create and manage a website. Let’s look at the step-by-step process of creating a WordPress website:

1. Buy a Domain Name and Hosting

Domain Name: The domain name is your website’s address, such as example.com. It serves as your online identity. For instance, I have a job-related WordPress website called SarkariJobDLS.com.

Hosting: Hosting is a server where all your website files are stored, making your WordPress website accessible on the internet.

Connecting Domain Name to Hosting:

  1. Buy a Domain Name: Purchase a domain name from services like GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Bluehost.
  2. Buy Hosting: Purchase hosting from reliable hosting providers such as Bluehost, SiteGround, or HostGator.
  3. Update Nameservers: If you buy the domain and hosting from different providers, update the nameservers in the domain’s DNS settings. The hosting provider will give you the nameservers (e.g., ns1.yourhostingprovider.com).

2. Install WordPress
